Arts Dollars

The Arts Dollars program awards matching funds up to $500 for arts projects in Adams County taking place between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017. The program is funded in part by the Illinois Arts Council, the City of Quincy, The Tracy Family Foundation, The Community Foundation, The Quincy Service League, The Stillwell Foundation and the business and individual members of Arts Quincy.

The deadline for 2017 applications is Monday, October 31, 2016. In 2016 Arts Quincy awarded $10,300 in grants for the Arts Dollars program.

The Arts Dollars program will accept ONE request from each applicant for up to $500 in matching funds. Matching funds means that Arts Quincy is not the only funding source for your project. These funds should be matched by one or more other funding sources.

These grants are intended for Arts Quincy Partner Organizations. School associations (such as PTAs) are included under the umbrella of their affiliated school’s fine arts department. Please call if you have questions about your elegiblity to apply. Individual artists wishing to work in a school or community agency should contact that agency directly.

Funding Priorities

AQ will give special priority to Partner Organizations projects which:

  • Provide direct financial support to Adams County arts organizations and individual artists
  • Include professional arts activities in schools, at all levels
  • Include professional arts activities in after school programs
  • Introduce the arts to new audiences
  • Encourage new works and innovative projects
  • Provide increased opportunities for minority involvement, 30% of funds will be awarded to projects which facilitate the full and equitable participation of the under-served population

We Do Not Fund

  • For-profit organizations
  • Direct grants to individual artists
  • Incomplete or unsigned applications
  • Capital improvements, purchase of real property, permanent equipment and accumulated deficits
  • Projects that are part of the curriculum of schools, colleges and universities
  • Individual artists requests to work in schools or community organizations
  • Projects which are considered hobbies or therapeutic and/or recreational in nature
  • Completion of previously funded projects
  • Expenses incurred prior to project start date
