The Transformative Power of Art in Education and Society Karl believes that the visual arts are vital in education and society today, drawing inspiration from the philosophy of pragmatist thinker John Dewey. He explains, "Dewey stated that art is the most important creation of humankind. He believed it not only frees us from the monotony of daily life but also reshapes our understanding of reality, offering new visions and possibilities. Art is about remaking reality one creative expression at a time." Through his teaching, Karl fosters the transformative power of art, helping students engage with new ways of seeing the world around them. In addition to nurturing creativity, Karl’s teaching approach ensures that students not only develop technical skills but also gain a deep understanding of art’s cultural and historical significance. He encourages students to think critically, explore new perspectives and engage with the world through their creative work. Karl’s passion for art and its role in society shines through in every lesson, empowering his students to become thoughtful, creative individuals ready to contribute meaningfully to the world.
