Library Expands Outreach Services

The Quincy Public Library Outreach Services department currently serves over 170 patrons in the Quincy area on a bi-weekly basis delivering to individual homes and community living centers.

QU Fine Arts and Communication Visit Day

​The Quincy University School of Fine Arts and Communication will host a visit day on Saturday, Feb. 17. Students will have the opportunity to tour campus and meet with faculty. Students will have a chance to audition for music scholarships, share their art portfolios or participate in a communication workshop. All students who attend the event will be considered for scholarships.

Quincy Community Theatre Holds QUILTAS Celebrating its 2023 Season

Quincy Community Theatre celebrated its 2023 season Friday evening at the Atrium on Third. The evening began with a formal dinner, followed by the awards and recognition ceremony. Twenty volunteers were recognized for their contributions to the theatre.

Arts Quincy Secures $50,000 grant for Amphitheater

Arts Quincy is excited to announce it is a recipient of $50,000 grant to be used towards an engineering study of a riverfront amphitheater. The grant was awarded by the Illinois Arts Council Agency from the Rebuild Illinois Capital Planning Fund. Several parties’ hard work, collaboration and dedication to supporting the revitalization of the riverfront have played an important role in this grant, including Arts Quincy, Quincy Riverfront Development Corporation and the City of Quincy.

Confronting Democracy’s Boundaries: The Lincoln-Douglas Debate

After more than a year of renovations, The Lincoln-Douglas Debate Interpretive Center reopened this past October. The center was also renamed as “The Lincoln Douglas Debate Museum.”
The museum is open to educate residents and visitors about the significance of the sixth Lincoln-Douglas Debate with state-of-the-art exhibits, displays and professional videos. Visitors learn how the event made an impact on a local and state level, but also on a national level as it became a turning point in Lincoln’s political career which launched him to the path to presidency.
