Arts Quincy: America’s First Arts Council, has been selected as the winner of The American Prize in Arts Marketing, 2019-2020, in recognition of its robust media presence, flagship publication, overall community involvement and public outreach initiatives.

Arts Quincy was selected as the winner from applications reviewed recently from across the United States. The American Prize in Arts Marketing recognizes and rewards the best marketing campaigns by the best arts administrators in America and is based on submitted applications from professional or community groups. The contest seeks evidence of campaigns that combine inspiration and creativity with demonstrable success, regardless of the budget available.

The American Prize is a national nonprofit competition series which has awards in all areas of the performing arts and arts administration and is considered the nation's most comprehensive series of contests in the fine arts. The American Prize is nonprofit, unique in scope and structure, and is designed to evaluate, recognize and reward the best performers, ensembles, composers and arts administrators in the United States based on submitted recordings and/or materials.

In addition to the award itself, Arts Quincy will receive a cash prize and written remarks by this year’s prestigious panel of judges.

“Arts Quincy is so proud of the marketing work we do on behalf of our 55 partner organizations in all areas of the arts and humanities. We are so grateful for the amazing media partnerships and our members that make this possible.” explains executive director Laura Sievert. “You’ll find us engaging the public across any and every platform from web and new media, to television, print, radio and outdoor signage. The partnership of our local media is immense, and it helps make Quincy a destination for arts and culture throughout the Midwest.”

“I want to specially recognize Jenna Seaborn, Arts Quincy’s Marketing Director. Jenna works tirelessly to maintain our brand and to drive new outreach so that the arts are more accessible to the community. She manages a whole marketing firm’s worth of graphic design and communication, and the entire team is very proud of her achievements.” says Sievert

This is not the first national-level recognition that the arts in Quincy have received recently; in both 2018 and 2019 travel giant Expedia/Yelp named Quincy one of America’s Most Artistic Small Towns, and Arts Quincy also received recognition as the Better Business Bureau Torch Award Winner for nonprofits in the St. Louis region in 2017.

Arts Quincy’s Media Partners include: The Herald Whig, WGEM, Q-Magazine, WGEM-News Talk 105, KHQA, KICK-FM and Y101 (TownSquare Media), WTAD (Star Radio), Spectrum Reach and Charter Media. The organization publishes Arts Quincy Magazine, supplies content for the Washington Theater Marquee, and maintains the master Community Arts Directory and Arts Calendar. PBS will also feature Arts Quincy on the program Illinois Stories in August. Find Arts Quincy on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
