2/3/2021

This Valentine’s, The Quincy Art Center has a few, fun and crafty ways to turn common items you have around the house into three-dimensional cards for your friends and loved ones! Make one or all three of these projects with step-by-step instructions!
  • Egg Carton Animal Face Card
  • Toilet Paper Roll Candy Holders
  • Match Box Pop Out Card

Egg Carton Animal Face Card
  • - Empty egg carton
  • - Glue & scissors
  • - Paint
  • - Paper or magazine pages
  • - Cardstock or cereal box
Cut out the bases of the egg carton so they can set flat on the surface like a dome. Decide what creature or critter you would like to turn your egg carton into. You can even use the lid of the egg crate to make 3D ears! Use paper or magazines to create clothes and add a message for your friends and family. Once you have all your pieces, assemble them together on a piece of card stock, or cut out a card size square from an empty cereal box to create a sturdy background. Everyone is sure to love your original creation!

Toilet Paper Roll Candy Holders
  • - Empty toilet paper roll
  • - Paint or paper
  • - Glue & scissors
  • - Candy
Design your toilet paper roll using paint or paper. Let the toilet paper roll dry completely then fold in one end of the toilet paper roll, add candy, then fold the other end to close it up. You can even add a secret message!

Match Box Pop Out Card
  • - Empty match box
  • - Paint
  • - Paper, embellishments
  • - Glue & scissors
Add designs and color with paint, paper or both! Kids can draw characters and other designs to create personal works of art to share. Add a special message inside, and throw in some candy too!
